Israeli forces have launched an airstrike on a school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the besieged Gaza Strip. Displaced Palestinians took refuge in the school.
The Israeli occupation forces have acknowledged the attack on the UNRWA-run school.
In a statement, the Israeli army said the school was being held by Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters. However, the Gaza government media office denied the allegations. They said that Israel is making such a claim to justify this brutal killing.
Earlier, the Israeli forces raided the Nuseirat refugee camp overnight. A residential house in the camp was bombed and collapsed, killing at least 6 Palestinians.
Meanwhile, Palestinian independence group Hamas says a permanent end to the war in Gaza and the withdrawal of Israeli troops are necessary to agree to its cease-fire proposal. But Israel’s defense chief said the attacks would not stop during ceasefire talks.
Various UN agencies have warned that if the attacks continue, the food crisis in Gaza will worsen. More than 1 million Palestinians there are feared to be facing severe starvation by the middle of next month.
Innocent Palestinians are losing their lives every day due to the rampage of Israeli forces in Gaza. Women, men and even small children are not able to escape from these attacks. No place in Gaza is habitable anymore. The Israeli forces have turned this valley, which is besieged by attacks almost everywhere, into a prison of death.
