The Sharjah Misdemeanor Court is currently presiding over the case of a delivery driver accused of embezzling a motorcycle. The company alleges that the employee refused to return the vehicle following a traffic accident that resulted in serious injuries to him.
According to case documents, the owner of the delivery company filed a report indicating that they had given the employee a motorcycle for work purposes. When the employee did not return the motorbike after his employment ceased, the company initiated legal action for embezzlement.
During the trial, the court presented the charges to the defendant, who formally denied them. The driver explained that a traffic accident while on duty left him with a broken arm, a dislocated shoulder, and a loss of consciousness. He stated that these injuries prevented him from returning the motorcycle or contacting his employer immediately.
The defendant further testified that he reached out to his supervisor once he recovered. He maintained that he kept the motorcycle because he had paid for his own medical expenses and received no compensation from the company. After reviewing the case file and listening to both parties, the Sharjah Misdemeanor Court decided to postpone sentencing to a later session.
