The Organizing Committee of the UAE SWAT Challenge has released details of the fifth edition of the competition set to commence this coming Saturday at the Training City in Al Ruwayyah.
This year’s challenge has registered record participation with 87 teams from 48 countries, including five female and two mixed teams. The announcement came during a press conference held at the Training City in Al Ruwayyah.
Largest Edition Yet
The committee confirmed that this year’s edition is the largest in terms of the number of teams competing, following the unparalleled success of the previous four editions on an international scale. The event has seen consistent growth in participation from special forces, rapid intervention units, and tactical teams worldwide.
Significant Development and Increased Prize Money
The committee highlighted the significant development of the UAE SWAT Challenge, thanks to the support and guidance of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. With his directives, the competition has achieved global recognition, fostering an exchange of expertise among participating tactical teams and introducing the latest global practices in rapid intervention. The prize money for this year’s challenge has been increased from USD 170,000 to USD 260,000 under the guidance of Lieutenant General Al Marri.
Prize Details
The first-place team will receive USD 80,000, USD 40,000 for the second place, USD 30,000 for the third, USD 15,000 for the fourth, and descending amounts for places fifth through tenth. Daily challenges will also be awarded, with the first-place team receiving USD 5,000, the second-place team USD 3,000, and the third-place team USD 2,000.
Five Challenges to Compete in
Teams will compete in five challenges: the Tactical Competition, Obstacle Course, Officer Rescue, Tower Challenge, and Assault Competition. Each challenge requires tactical skill, physical ability, and proficiency.
Dubai Police Women’s Team Ready to Compete
The Dubai Police Women’s Team, participating for the second time, is prepared to face all five challenges. The team showed competitive results in the previous edition and is now fully trained in various advanced skills like tactical shooting, breaching, sniping, and endurance.
Esports Competition Alongside the SWAT Challenge
Alongside the SWAT Challenge, Dubai Police has announced a special edition of its Esports Tournament. Forty players will compete in two games across eight teams – six male and two female. The competition will feature ‘Counter Strike 2’ and ‘Valorant’, with prize money totalling AED 50,000.
