A new version of Apple’s popular technology product ‘Apple Pencil’ has arrived in the market. The notable feature of this version is USB-C charging port instead of Lightning port.
Like the latest version of the iPhone, the iPhone 15, the Apple Pencil has now added a USB-C port.
Apple’s online store is priced at $79. However, this price may change depending on the country and market.
This digital pencil is mainly used for writing or drawing on the screen of Apple devices. Basically, this device can be used with Apple’s iPad and iPad Air.
Devices that can be used with Type-C Apple Pen:
- 12.9-inch iPad Pro third to sixth generation
- All 11-inch iPad Pro models
- iPad Air fourth and fifth generation
- iPad mini sixth generation and
- Tenth generation of iPad
The important thing here is that until now, Apple Pencil only worked on the first generation iPad. But the new Apple Pencil can also be used on the 10th generation iPad.
Apple says the new Pencils can be held to the side of the iPad by a magnetic field. As a result, iPad and pencil can be kept together.
However, USB-C cable has to be used for pairing and charging.
The charging port has been added on one side of the new device. Like a real pen, this digital pen also has a lid. The charging port can be seen by removing the lid.
Some users have said that the new version of the Apple Pencil looks a little weird when charging due to the new design.
But analysts say the design change is due to the size of the USB-C port.
Although the location of the USB-C port seems a bit archaic, later users will understand that this is due to the shape of USB-C. Price-wise, the new product is more affordable than any previous pencil. But when it comes to features, wireless pairing, charging, pressure sensitivity, and double tap options are lacking. Which was not in the second generation product.
This device is also exceptional in terms of price. Apple Pencil has never been available at such a low price before. The first and second generation devices were sold for $99 and $129 respectively. The USB-C pencil lacks some features, such as wireless pairing and charging, pressure sensitivity and double tap action. But none of these are very important. The new model has all the necessary features for drawing and writing.
