At least 11 people lost their lives on Monday following a massive explosion at a firecracker factory in the Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Among the victims were eight children, aged between four and 13, according to local reports.
The force of the blast caused several residential buildings in the immediate vicinity to collapse, trapping many of the victims inside their homes. Police official Satnarayan Prajapat confirmed the fatalities and noted that several other individuals sustained injuries during the incident. Authorities have not yet determined the specific cause of the explosion.
