An Emirati relief mission has departed for the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to deliver urgent humanitarian aid following severe floods and landslides that have caused significant casualties, missing persons, and widespread destruction. The operation is being conducted under the direct instructions of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan as part of the nation’s ongoing commitment to international disaster response.
To support the recovery efforts, the UAE has allocated $10 million to provide essential supplies and basic necessities to affected individuals across all age groups. The aid delivery involves two aircraft: the first transport carried 83 tonnes of food and shelter materials, while the second delivered 45 tonnes of relief supplies, including power generators and additional food items.
The specialized mission team includes personnel from the Joint Operations Command, the Dubai Police Search & Rescue Team, and the UAE Aid Agency. These experts are tasked with conducting medical evacuations, providing first aid, and supporting search and rescue operations in close coordination with Nepalese authorities. The UAE Aid Agency is working alongside the UAE Embassy in Kathmandu and international organizations to ensure that resources are distributed effectively to men, women, and children in the most impacted regions.
This mission is part of a broader series of humanitarian initiatives undertaken by the UAE in 2026, which have reached 16 countries across four continents. These efforts underscore the country’s dedication to global solidarity and its active role in providing critical assistance during times of crisis and natural disaster, reinforcing its established humanitarian policy of standing with affected populations worldwide. The report also notes that the $10 million allocation forms part of the UAE’s efforts to support early recovery and stability and provide essential supplies and basic necessities to people of different age groups amid the difficult circumstances.
