Parts of the United Arab Emirates experienced rainfall of varying intensity on Sunday, marking the third consecutive day of unsettled weather. The precipitation, which ranged from moderate to heavy and included thundery conditions, impacted several areas, notably the Dubai-Al Ain road, Al Hayer, Sa’a, and Khatm Al Shiklah in Al Ain.
The storms were accompanied by hail, particularly along the Dubai-Al Ain road, alongside active winds that reduced horizontal visibility. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), these conditions are expected to persist into Monday, with further rain likely in some eastern and southern regions.
Looking ahead, Monday’s forecast indicates clear to partly cloudy skies, with cumulus clouds expected to develop over eastern and southern areas by the afternoon. Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to the northeast at speeds between 10 and 25 km/h, occasionally reaching 40 km/h and stirring up dust. Conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will feature regular waves.
Tuesday is expected to bring a gradual drop in temperatures, particularly along the coast, with clear to partly cloudy skies and some cloud cover in the east. Winds will shift to a southeasterly to northwesterly direction, maintaining speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, with gusts up to 40 km/h causing potential dust. The sea will remain calm with regular wave activity.
By Wednesday, the weather will remain clear to partly cloudy, with a chance of afternoon rain as cumulus clouds form in the east. Thursday will see similar conditions, followed by increased humidity on Thursday night and Friday morning, which may lead to fog or light fog in some coastal and inland areas. During this period, light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds will persist at 10 to 20 km/h, occasionally reaching 35 km/h, with regular sea conditions continuing.
