Bangladesh Bank has introduced a new series of banknotes featuring the signature of Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur. These newly designed notes, part of the “Historic and Archaeological Architecture of Bangladesh” series, will eventually cover all denominations from Tk1,000 down to Tk2.
The Tk1,000, Tk50, and Tk20 notes officially entered circulation on Sunday. The remaining denominations—Tk500, Tk200, Tk100, Tk10, Tk5, and Tk2—will be released gradually. Bangladesh Bank will announce the specific issue dates and security features for these notes through future press releases. It’s important to note that all previously issued banknotes and coins of these denominations will remain valid.
