President Asif Ali Zardari’s daughter Asifa Bhutto Zardari is going to become the first lady of Pakistan, breaking the tradition.
Usually the wife of the President gets the status of First Lady. Asifa Bhutto will get all the privileges and protocols of the First Lady when the official announcement is made. Giving the status of first lady to a daughter instead of a wife is unprecedented in Pakistan.
Asif Ali Zardari’s wife Benazir Bhutto was killed by an assassin in 2007. His child is Asifa Bhutto. He is the third child of Asif Ali Zardari. He made his debut in Pakistani politics in 2020.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari was elected as the President of Pakistan on Saturday (March 9). He defeated Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI)-backed Sunni Ittihad Council candidate Mahmud Khan Achakzai.
Asif Ali Zardari was elected as the President of the country for the second time. Before that, he was the President of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013. The coalition government led by the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) has supported Asif Ali Zardari as the presidential candidate.
