Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, has affirmed that Dubai Police is committed to sustaining excellence and pioneering projects, services, and work environment.
Al Marri confirmed that the force’s commitment aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which forms the foundation of excellence in Dubai. He emphasised that motivating employees contribute significantly to a qualitative shift in institutional performance through the development, qualification, and training of employees to reach high standards in all areas of excellence.
Al Marri’s remarks came during his inspection visit to the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering as part of the annual inspection program of the general departments and police stations.
The visit was attended by His Excellency Major General Dr. Mohammed Al Mar, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Excellence and Pioneering Affairs; Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Mualla, Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering, his deputy Brigadier Dr. Saleh Al Hamrani; Brigadier Khalid Saeed bin Sulaiman, Acting Director of the Regulatory Office, and several officers.
Al Marri reviewed the performance indicators, strategic directions, and their impact on the initiatives and strategic projects of the department. The achievement rate of the goals reached 98.6%, with 475 improvement projects from 2009 to 2022. He was also briefed on Dubai Police’s governmental excellence through the presentation of the awards attained by the force in the past five years, totalling 320 local and global excellence awards.
Al Marri also reviewed the indicators from the Opinion Poll Centre, including the feeling safe indicator at %98.7. The Centre also recorded an increase the sense of feeling safe walking alone at night to 95% in 2023 from 92.3% in 2022 and the public’s trust in police stations at 97.7%.
Al Marri was informed about the strategic integration system between the organisational units, the strategy of Dubai Police, and its interdependency with the Dubai Government’s strategy. He reviewed the most significant initiatives at the level of the general departments and police stations.
Al Marri also examined the results of the initiatives implemented in 2023 by the Initiatives and Projects Management Department, including achievements, capabilities, and improvement rates on indicators and strategies based on the implementation of initiatives and projects. The Department showcased initiatives over the past five years, totalling 467 initiatives across various police sectors.
Al Marri also praised efforts exerted by the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering toward ensuring the transfer of knowledge to numerous governmental and private entities in various fields, including administrative affairs, initiatives, evaluation, institutional excellence, governance, customer happiness, strategic planning, Six Sigma, operations, opinion polls, and more.
