Israel has announced that it will stop issuing automatic visas to UN staff, calling them ‘collaborators’ of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement – Hamas.
Israel’s Spokesman Ailon Levy recently announced this decision.
He said that during the current conflict in Gaza, UN staff are blaming Israel and hiding the blame of Hamas. He condemned the United Nations officials by making this accusation.
Tel Aviv says some UN officials are working as allies of Hamas, the Islamic resistance movement in Gaza.
Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said visas requested by UN staff will not be automatically approved but will be subject to a detailed vetting process.
Israeli spokesman Elon Levy said Israel would stop working with UN officials who work with Hamas as a propaganda machine. Israel has called on its allies to take similar action.
