Dubai Municipality has officially opened a new 102-metre landmark bridge within Mushrif National Park, a development designed to provide a safer and more seamless experience for outdoor enthusiasts. By bridging previously separated sections of the park’s trail network, the structure enables an uninterrupted journey through the city’s largest forest, effectively eliminating the need for riders to navigate across vehicle-trafficked roads.
The infrastructure project features two distinct lanes, one specifically for mountain bikers and another reserved for hikers, ensuring that different user groups can move through the landscape without interference. While the bridge itself measures 102 metres, the total end-to-end mountain biking route facilitated by this new connection spans 182 metres. This design serves to enhance both the connectivity of the trail system and the overall safety of the park’s recreational environment.
Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, highlighted the strategic importance of the project. He noted that the bridge transforms the local mountain biking experience by establishing a continuous link between two trail segments. According to Anwahi, this allows cyclists to maintain their momentum through one of Dubai’s most unique natural settings without the disruption of stopping for road crossings, resulting in a smoother and more enjoyable outdoor adventure.
Beyond the immediate functional benefits, the bridge is part of a broader effort by the municipality to elevate Mushrif National Park as a premier destination for adventure and active lifestyles. Anwahi emphasized that the development approach focuses on creating an integrated environment where nature and physical activity converge, giving residents and visitors further incentive to engage with the park’s natural terrain.
