Emirates has announced a series of flight adjustments for its services connecting Dubai with Shanghai and Hangzhou, citing severe weather conditions caused by the approach of Typhoon Dolphin. The airline cautioned that the storm is expected to impact operations over the coming days and urged passengers to monitor their flight status closely for any further updates.
The schedule changes affect several key routes. Flight EK302, originally set for August 8, is now scheduled to depart Dubai at 10:50pm on August 9, with an arrival in Shanghai at 11:30am on August 10. Similarly, flight EK304, which was slated for August 9, will now operate as EK8304 on August 10, leaving Dubai at 1:20am and reaching Shanghai at 2:00pm. The return service, EK305, has been moved to depart Shanghai at 3:45pm on August 10, arriving in Dubai at 8:25pm.
Adjustments have also been made for flights to and from Hangzhou. Flight EK310 is now set to depart Dubai at 6:25pm on August 9, arriving in Hangzhou at 6:55am on August 10. The return flight, EK311, which was initially planned for August 10, will now depart Hangzhou at 9:40am on August 10 and is expected to land in Dubai at 2:00pm that same day.
These disruptions come as authorities in China intensify preparations for the storm. According to reports, the country has begun closing ports and suspending ferry services in anticipation of the typhoon, which is projected to make landfall along the eastern coast between late Sunday and early Monday.
Emirates continues to monitor the meteorological situation and has advised travelers that additional delays or schedule changes remain possible depending on how the weather develops.
