Sara Tendulkar, the daughter of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, was the victim of a deepfake video last year. After the girl, this time Sachin himself became the victim of a similar video. The owner of the record 100 international centuries also gave a warning about this through social media.
The 50-year-old Master Blaster wrote on his social media handle X, “These are fake videos. Misuse of technology is quite disturbing. If you see such videos, advertisements and apps, please block them.
The fake video shows fake Tendulkar promoting a game called Skyward Avatar Quest. Fake Tendulkar says how everyone can get money by playing games.
In the post, Tendulkar urged, ‘Social media platforms need to be more vigilant and responsible with complaints. Quick action is critical before data misuse and deepfakes spread.”
During the ODI World Cup last year, Tendulkar’s daughter Sara was spotted with a deepfake picture. A picture of Indian opener Shubman Gill and Sarah went viral. The original film was of brother Arjun Tendulkar with Sara.
