Occupier Israel continues to attack the besieged Gaza Strip. More than 22,000 Palestinians have been killed in this attack since October 7. Most of them are women and children.
Meanwhile, Israel has been unable to rescue most of the prisoners held by the Palestinian independence armed group Hamas. After 90 days of conflict, 136 Israelis are still being held by Hamas.
Anadolu news agency reported this information in a report on Friday (January 5).
The Israeli army said Friday that 136 prisoners still remain in the Gaza Strip, according to reports.
At a press conference, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said, “136 Israelis are still being held captive in the Gaza Strip, including 3 civilians who were initially reported missing but later found to be among those held in Gaza.”
He also said, “We are continuing to work through all efforts, including intelligence and military operations, to bring them back.”
Earlier, however, recent figures published by Israeli officials and the media indicated that 129 prisoners were being held in the Gaza Strip. And Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari says their number is 136.
This gives a glimpse of conflicting figures in Israel about the actual number of prisoners held by Hamas in Gaza.
