The Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Abhi Kuch Log Baqi Hain and Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel, organized a grand Urdu Mushaira featuring renowned Pakistani poets in Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel in Ajman, UAE on June 01, 2025.
The literary evening was followed by a soulful Ghazal Night by the classical singer Ustad Shafqat Salamat Ali Khan.
Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the UAE, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr. Bu Abdullah, Chairman of the Bu Abdullah Group, Dr. Rashid Alleem, and other dignitaries attended the event attracting a large audience, uniting members of the Pakistani community and Urdu literature enthusiasts from across the UAE.
In his remarks, Ambassador Tirmizi extended a warm welcome to the participating poets and commended their outstanding contributions to Urdu literature. He highlighted the vital role of Pakistani art and literature as powerful tools of soft power, capable of projecting the nation’s rich cultural legacy on global platforms.
The Mushaira was presided over by iconic poet Abbas Tabish and conducted by celebrated literary figures Ambareen Haseeb Amber and Shakeel Jazib. The poets included Dr. Sabahat Wasti, Abbas Tabish, Shakeel Jazib, Ambareen Haseeb, Ahmad Ata, Ahmed Salman, Saima Aftab, Ali Zaryoon, Umair Najmi, Rakib Mukhtar, Zia Mazkoor, Tabish Zaidi, Malik Irfan, Raza Ahmad Raza, Sulman Jazib and Syed Jarrar.
Congratulating the partner organizers on the successful event, Ambassador Tirmizi reiterated the Embassy’s commitment to supporting and facilitating similar cultural and literary initiatives in the future.
“It is a matter of immense pride and pleasure to host our renowned poets here in the UAE. Art and literature, as instruments of soft diplomacy, hold great promise in promoting Pakistan’s image internationally”, remarked the Ambassador.
Ambassador Tirmizi also extended special thanks to Mr. Iftekhar Hamdani, General Manager of Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel, for the venue’s continued support in hosting events that promote Pakistani culture and literature.
