At least 14 people, including a senior Hezbollah commander named Ibrahim Akil, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Another 66 people were injured in this attack. 8 of them are in critical condition.
This area is known as Hezbollah’s stronghold.
Hizbullah’s senior commander Ibrahim Akil was meeting with members of Hizbullah’s ‘elite unit’ Radwan in southern Beirut. He was killed during the attack. Members of Hezbollah’s elite force Radwan were also killed in that attack. However, only Aqeel’s death has been confirmed by Hezbollah.

In response to this incident, the Iranian embassy in Lebanon said that Israel had crossed “all lines” in the air strike. In a post on social media, they claimed that Israel had also attacked residential areas.
Meanwhile, White House spokesman John Kirby said that the United States had no knowledge of Israel’s attack. US citizens are advised to avoid Lebanon.
Hundreds of pagers and walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah members exploded simultaneously on Tuesday and Wednesday. 37 people were killed and 3000 were injured. Hizbullah lost Akil and other commanders immediately after this shock.
