7 soldiers of the country were killed in an explosive attack in Laki Marwa of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. One of them is an army captain.

At least seven people, including an army captain, were killed after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) hit a vehicle carrying army personnel in Lakki Marwa in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday. The police also said that they foiled an ambush at a security check post in Bajaur in the province.
Local officials said the vehicle carrying army personnel was attacked near Sultankhel village, a border area of Punjab’s Mianwali district, on its way to Kachi Kamar area.
An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated in a security forces vehicle in Lakki Marwat district, a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan’s military said.
According to the media wing of the country’s army, 26-year-old Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas of Kasur, 50-year-old Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir of Skardu, 34-year-old Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar, Lance Naik Hussain Ali, 33-year-old Sepoy Asadullah of Multan, 27-year-old of Gilgit were killed. Sepoy Manzoor Hussain and 31-year-old Sepoy Rashid Mehmood of Rawalpindi district were killed.
ISPR said operations are underway to eliminate terrorists from the area in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and criminals involved in the heinous attack will be brought to justice. Security forces are determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism and make sacrifices in this task.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan strongly condemned the attack on security forces in Shahab Khela area of Gandapur Laki Marwat district.
In a separate incident, police in Bajaur district repelled an attack by terrorists in the dark of night on their check post. A group of terrorists armed with multiple weapons attacked the police post in Miyagano area of Khar tehsil, police said. Terrorists also used rocket launchers and other weapons during the attack.
According to the statement, several police officers at the check post immediately responded to the attack. A senior police official said the police have started an investigation to identify the accomplices and attackers.
