Three US soldiers were killed in a drone strike on a US base in Syria near the Jordanian border. The US government has released the names of the three soldiers killed in the attack.
The three soldiers killed in an enemy drone attack in Jordan last Sunday are Sergeant William Jerome Rivers (46), Specialist Kennedy Ladon Sanders (24) and Specialist Breona Alexandria Moffett (23).
According to reports, the US is blaming Iran-backed groups for the attack. The Pentagon also says the images of the attack bear Hezbollah’s “footprints”. However, the Pentagon says that the United States does not want a war with Iran.
“We do not seek war, but we will take action and respond to attacks on our forces,” Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said.
According to the White House, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and other officials briefed President Biden on the attack on Sunday morning local time.
In a statement, President Biden said, “The United States will take action at the appropriate time and by means to bring those involved in this attack to justice.” Jill and I met with the families and relatives of those killed in the attack.
