United Arab Emirates has announced the possible date for the start of the holy month of Ramadan 2024. According to the Hijri calendar published on the country’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) website, Ramadan 2024 may begin on March 12.
It has been said that compared to 2023, the fasting time is decreasing in the country. This year, on the first day of Ramadan, Muslims in the Emirates will fast for 13 hours and 16 minutes. At the end of the month, the fasting time will reach about 14 hours. Last year the fasting time was between 13 hours 33 minutes and 14 hours 16 minutes.
According to the ICAD calendar, this holy month of Ramadan is expected to be 29 days long. The fast will end on Tuesday, the 9th of April. Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims, will be celebrated at the end of fasting.
This year, the people of the country are going to get a six-day holiday on the occasion of Eid. The government has already announced public holiday for Eid from 29th of Ramadan to 3rd of Shawwal.
