Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the United Arab Emirates. He arrived in the Emirates on Wednesday (December 6). Putin will meet with Emir Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan there.
Earlier, Yuri Ushakov, aide to the Russian President, said that the initial meeting will include the respective delegations of the two countries, and then there will be talks between the two leaders.
It is known that after the talks in Dubai, the Russian President will visit Saudi Arabia. He is scheduled to meet with Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman there.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin visited the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia in 2019.
Putin has rarely traveled abroad in recent years. Most of those that did were former Soviet Union countries. Apart from this, his last visit was to China last October.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant against Putin on charges of war crimes over the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Due to this, his foreign travel has been limited.
Russia, however, has denied the war crimes allegations and called the ICC’s action offensive. Neither Saudi Arabia nor the UAE are members of the ICC. As a result, there is no danger of Putin being arrested in both countries.
