US TikTok star Megan Rice has converted to Islam. He said that despite the atrocities of Israel in the Gaza Strip, the steadfastness of the Palestinians and reading the Holy Qur’an played a special role in his acceptance of Islam. He said these things in a Tiktok video.
According to a report published on a UK-based Islamic website, Megan recently shared a video of the Gaza war on TikTok. There he expressed his admiration for the steadfast faith of the Palestinians despite so much destruction.
In the comment section of that video, many people wrote that behind this determination of Gazans is their “religious faith”. And this is what makes Megan very surprised. How can hundreds of people give their lives for religious beliefs and how can they remain so steadfast despite hundreds of tortures – the question arises in Megan’s mind. From that he became interested in learning about Islam.
Later, Megan tried to learn about Islam through various means. But because it is difficult to get accurate information in the western world, he read many articles about Islam. But did not get any good information. And he did not believe what he got.
Megan thought that a religion whose followers could give their lives with a smile couldn’t be so negative. That is why he started a wider search and started reading the Quran, the holy book of Islam.
He claims that the deeper he got into the Qur’an, the more amazed he became. He read various events of the Qur’an one by one and found balanced provisions. At one stage he felt that his knowledge about Islam was really very little.
Before reading the Qur’an, he understood only Islam, that women can be divorced in Islam without any hindrance. Again, a man can take back his divorced wife if he wishes. Besides, there is no such freedom in Islam.
But after reading the Quran, his whole idea changed. Gradually he was so impressed by the beauty of Islam that he embraced this holy religion.
Megan later admitted that her preconceived notions about Islam were biased. Expressing his respect for the Qur’an, he said, the principles of the Qur’an are fully consistent with his ideals and beliefs. After the incident, a video showed Meghan reciting the Shahadah and publicly embracing Islam.
