The European Commission has joined international voices in condemning the Israeli government’s decision to issue tenders for the E1 settlement project in the occupied West Bank. Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated on the X platform that the move is unacceptable, noting that the European Union has long opposed such expansion.
A coalition of nations, including France, Britain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, and Norway, has also urged the Israeli authorities to immediately abandon these plans. These countries have called for a halt to all settlement expansion activities within the occupied West Bank.
