The United Arab Emirates has successfully brokered a new prisoner exchange between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine. The latest operation saw 103 captives released by each side, pushing the total number of individuals exchanged through UAE-led mediation efforts to 7,997.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) praised both Moscow and Kyiv for their continued cooperation with the UAE’s diplomatic initiatives. Officials highlighted that this latest success, which marks the 26th mediation effort to date, underscores the strong and distinguished bilateral relations the UAE maintains with both nations.
The Ministry reiterated the UAE’s ongoing dedication to pursuing a peaceful resolution to the conflict. By acting as a trusted international mediator, the country aims to alleviate the broader humanitarian consequences of the war, specifically focusing on the welfare of refugees and those held in captivity.
