Kuwait’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced a safety recall on Monday, August 3, affecting three specific Land Rover SUV models. The recall targets the 2022-2027 Range Rover, the 2020-2027 Defender, and the 2021-2027 Discovery. These vehicles, manufactured by the British firm Jaguar Land Rover—a subsidiary of India’s Tata Motors—have been identified as having a potential defect within their airbag systems.
According to the ministry, the issue stems from an airbag connector that may be susceptible to corrosion over time. To address this risk, authorities are urging all affected vehicle owners to bring their cars in for a professional inspection. The ministry confirmed that any necessary corrective actions will be performed in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines at no cost to the consumer.

This announcement follows recent automotive safety activity in the region. Earlier on the same day, Saudi Arabia issued a recall for 96 units of the 2025 Audi Q5. That specific action was prompted by a defect in the front seatbelt pretensioner, which could loosen after activation, thereby diminishing the system’s effectiveness and elevating injury risks during a collision.
