The UAE Fuel Pricing Committee will officially announce retail petrol and diesel prices tomorrow to bring them in line with global rates.
The UAE Fuel Pricing Committee has announced petrol and diesel prices for the month of October 2024. The new rates will be applicable from October 1 and are as follows:
- Super 98 petrol costs Dh2.66 per litre, compared to Dh2.90 in September.
- Special 95 petrol will cost Dh2.54 per litre, compared to the current rate of Dh2.78.
- E-Plus 91 petrol will cost Dh2.47 per litre, compared to Dh2.71 per liter in September.
- Diesel will be charged at Dh2.6 compared to the current rate of Dh2.78 per litre.
Petrol prices were expected to decline in October due to lower global oil prices in September.
Brent oil prices averaged around $73 a barrel in September, compared with $78.63 a barrel in August, due to a number of factors including firm supply and news of Saudi Arabia plans to increase production.
Oil prices fell more than 4 percent in just two days last week after news of Saudi Arabia abandoning its $100-a-barrel target and plans to increase output.
Since the UAE deregulated petrol prices in 2015 and linked them to global rates, the rates are revised at the end of every month. The UAE Fuel Pricing Committee will officially announce retail petrol and diesel prices tomorrow to bring them in line with global rates.
