Tamim Iqbal’s Fortune Barisal is the fourth team in the BPL to make the playoffs. Earlier, the playoffs were confirmed for Rangpur Riders, Comilla Victorians and Chittagong Challengers.
Rangpur Riders are at the top with 18 points from 9 wins in 12 matches in the round robin league. If they win against Barisal , Comilla would have a chance to climb to the top.
The defending champions are second with 16 points due to the loss. These two teams will face each other in the first qualifier. From there the winning team will go to the final. And the losing team will face the winning team in the eliminator in the second qualifier.
Meanwhile, Fortune Barisal, who beat Comilla by 6 wickets to secure the play-offs, are third in the table. They have 14 points from 7 wins in 12 matches. Apart from this, despite having 14 points equal to Barisal, Chittagong is fourth due to its run rate. These two teams will fight in the eliminator. From there, the winning team will play in the second qualifier.
The first qualifier and eliminator match has been moved to February 26. February 27 has been kept as reserve day. A day later, the second qualifier will be held on February 28. The final will be held as usual on March 1. Earlier, this year’s BPL started on January 19 with a change in the schedule for the national elections.
