Dubai Police recently organized the ‘Al Karama Community Run,’ witnessed a huge turnout, and brought together over 1000 participants across different categories, including adults, children, and people of determination.
The event aimed to strengthen the relationship between the police and the community by fostering communication and stronger bonds.
The event’s success resulted from a collaborative effort involving the Positive Spirit Initiative, Al Raffa Police Station, the People of Determination Empowerment Council, and partners.
The community event was attended by Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, the Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police; Brigadier Juma Khalfan Al Muhairi, the Acting Director of Al Raffa Police Station; Colonel Bakheet Al Ghafli, representing the Office of the Assistant Commandant for Criminal Investigation Affairs; and Ms. Fatima Buhajeer, the General Coordinator of the Positive Spirit initiative. Additionally, the event drew a large turnout of officers, officials, community members, and individuals of determination.
Brig. Al Mansouri emphasized the importance of integrating the social and sports aspects, as they play a vital role in supporting Dubai Police’s strategic objectives of community happiness and instilling a sense of security among individuals.
He highlighted the significant impact that sports and community initiatives have in strengthening the bond between the police and the community and their contribution to enhancing security indicators, delivering awareness messages, and promoting positive values through diverse programs.
Brig. Al Mansouri pointed out that the run featured three distinct categories within the community. “The first category catered to adults, with a 5km distance, while the second category was designed for children, covering a distance of 2.5km. Moreover, the third category, spanning 1km, was specifically tailored for individuals with determination,” Brig. Al Mansouri explained. “This further underscores Dubai Police’s unwavering commitment to supporting and integrating this group into various activities and initiatives,” he added.
Brig. Al Mansouri commended the collective efforts of Dubai Police’s teams and strategic partners from both the public and private sectors, whose invaluable support played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the community run.
The strategic partners included Dubai Sports Council, UAE Athletics Federation, Dubai Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Corporation For Ambulance Services, Dubai Media Incorporated, Union Cooperative Society, ENOC, Apollo Clinic, Nabdh Al Emarat Volunteering Team, The Volunteer Falcons Team, and Platinum Corporation.
