Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the expatriate community in Abu Dhabi next month where there has been an overwhelming response to register for a reception, event organizers said.
Titled ‘Ahlan Modi’, the community reception will be held on February 13 at Zayed Sports City Stadium in the capital.
According to a key member of the organizing committee, around 20,000 people have registered
“This is planned as the biggest community reception for Prime Minister Modi,” the member said.
The initial announcement of the mega event was made last week during an event at the India Club in Dubai.
“More than 350 Indian community leaders representing various regions and communities gathered at the India Club, Dubai for a pre-event briefing. There is great enthusiasm,” noted the member.
Organizers expect the stadium to be filled to its capacity. Various volunteer committees have been formed to plan and implement the programme.
This will be Modi’s seventh visit to the UAE. The mega community event will be held a day before the Indian Prime Minister inaugurates the region’s first traditional Hindu stone temple in Abu Dhabi.
The much-awaited inauguration of the iconic BAPS Hindu temple will be marked with a unique ‘Harmony Festival’ on February 14.
