Israel has responded to Hamas’ ceasefire proposal in Gaza. Hamas spokesman Khalil Al Haya confirmed this information in a statement from Qatar on Saturday.
In the statement, Khalil Al Haya said, “Israel has officially responded to the proposal (of ceasefire) that was sent through the officials of Egypt and Qatar on April 13.”
Earlier, the Hamas-IDF announced a temporary ceasefire from November 25 to December 1 through the mediation of Qatar, Egypt and the United States. During that break, Hamas released 108 of its hostages. On the other hand, Israel also released 150 Palestinians from prisons in various prisons in the country.
After that break, the three countries that brokered a second ceasefire in Gaza were working on it. It was supposed to start from the month of Ramadan this year; But mainly because of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s objection, it did not happen anymore.
As a result, the fate of the remaining 132 hostages held by Hamas is still unknown.
However, an official of the Egyptian delegation said that Hamas agreed to release 33 hostages in a proposal sent on April 13.
