Meanwhile, the ceasefire in Gaza has been extended for two more days. Israel and Hamas agreed on this on Monday night (November 27) after a long discussion. This was confirmed by the mediating country of Qatar.
A four-day ceasefire came into effect last Friday (November 24) morning, which was scheduled to end on Tuesday (November 28) morning. But there are demands to extend the ceasefire period from various quarters. For that purpose, both sides started intensive negotiations with the mediating countries.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari confirmed in a statement that an agreement had been reached to extend the humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for an additional two days.
Mediator countries Egypt, Qatar and the United States stepped up diplomatic efforts for another four-day ceasefire. But in the end, the parties reached a ceasefire of two more days.
