Qatar, Egypt, and Turkiye have formally condemned what they described as ongoing Israeli violations within the Gaza Strip. In a joint statement released Tuesday via Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X, the three mediating nations expressed strong opposition to the continuing military actions, specifically highlighting strikes against healthcare facilities and medical infrastructure.
The mediators characterized these attacks on civilians—including women and children—and medical sites as a flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian standards. They urged Israel to adhere to its international obligations and fully implement the established ceasefire agreement, warning that persistent violations threaten to undermine efforts to initiate the second phase of the truce.
The joint statement further called upon the international community to exert pressure on Israel to ensure the protection of civilians and medical personnel. The countries also demanded that Israel facilitate the uninterrupted delivery of essential humanitarian aid and medical supplies across the Gaza Strip.
The condemnation follows reports from Al Jazeera that at least two people were killed during an Israeli strike in the southwest of Gaza City on Monday. These developments occur alongside broader military operations, including an Israeli raid in the West Bank city of Nablus.
During the Nablus operation, Israeli forces entered the eastern sector of the city accompanied by military vehicles and a bulldozer to facilitate the movement of Israeli settlers toward Joseph’s Tomb. The incursion involved heavy gunfire and the use of tear gas.
Amjad Ahmad, director of the Palestinian Red Crescent’s emergency and ambulance centre in Nablus, reported that medical crews treated a 56-year-old woman who sustained injuries after falling from a height during the raid. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital for care.
In separate military actions, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced on Monday that they had eliminated two Hamas commanders. The IDF identified one as Adnan Taha Abu al-Tayf, a Nukhba commander allegedly involved in the October 7 infiltration, and the other as Jalal Tsubeih, a commander in the Daraj Tuffah Battalion killed in a strike in the Shati area.
The Israeli military stated that both individuals were targeted due to their recent efforts to advance operations against Israeli troops and civilians. These events take place against a backdrop of ongoing regional instability, including reports of rising health concerns such as chickenpox in Gaza camps and significant humanitarian aid contributions, such as the $3.12 billion provided by the UAE under the Chivalrous Knight 3 initiative.
The current situation remains marked by persistent violence, including previous incidents such as the deaths of journalists, children, and civilians at aid distribution sites, as well as airstrikes on hospitals. International observers and the UN continue to monitor the deteriorating conditions across the West Bank and Gaza.
