The Royal Thai Police (RTP) have confirmed their participation in the UAE SWAT Challenge 2024, which will be held at the Al Ruwayyah Training Facility in Dubai from February 3rd to 7th.
This year, RTP will participate with three teams: two male teams (A and B) and one female team(C).
RTP emphasized that this challenge presents a valuable opportunity to gain insights into diverse cultures, establish new friendships with SWAT members worldwide, and foster strong relationships with international agencies to promote future collaboration.
RTP stated that the three teams have made thorough preparations for the challenge by allocating specific roles among their members, who are predominantly police officers and SWAT team members rather than athletes. They further mentioned that the participants were carefully chosen from diverse special operations units within the police force. “Moreover, the police trainers are actively gathering crucial information about the competitions and the specific details of each challenge to ensure that the teams are adequately prepared,” RTP added.
RTP teams (A, B, and C) expressed their modest expectations for the competition, stating, “We don’t anticipate our skills to be extraordinary in this competition. Our primary goal is to showcase our capabilities, observe and learn from other teams, and ultimately strengthen our team. Simultaneously, we hope that other teams can adopt and incorporate the skills we showcase into their teams as well.”
RTP also emphasized the importance of effective communication, highlighting that they do not operate in isolation but as a cohesive unit. They acknowledged that miscommunication would lead to misunderstandings and increase the likelihood of mistakes. “This is especially critical when working in high-risk situations, where even minor errors can have severe consequences and potentially compromise the operation’s success,” they concluded.
