The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is scheduled to open an expanded section of Emirates Road on Sunday, August 30, 2026. This infrastructure upgrade involves the addition of two new lanes spanning a five-kilometer stretch, specifically benefiting motorists traveling from the Emirate of Sharjah toward the Wadi Al Amardi area exit.
By increasing the number of lanes from six to eight, the project aims to boost the road’s total capacity from 12,000 to 16,000 vehicles per hour.
