As the 2026-2027 academic year approaches, Emirates Transport has confirmed that its fleet of nearly 10,000 school buses is fully prepared for operation across the UAE. Each vehicle has been equipped with advanced safety and security systems to ensure a secure environment for students during their daily commutes.
To support these operations, the company has successfully trained more than 10,000 bus drivers and an equal number of transport and safety supervisors. This comprehensive training program was conducted ahead of the new term to ensure all personnel are prepared to uphold strict safety standards.
The preparations were highlighted during a special event held on Monday at Zayed II School, Cycle 2, in Al Shawamekh, Abu Dhabi. The gathering served as a kickoff for School Transport Week 2026-2027, welcoming drivers back from their summer holidays and reinforcing the company’s commitment to operational excellence.
Sulaiman Jassim Al Hammadi, Head of School Transport Operations and School Transport Adviser at Emirates Transport, emphasized the importance of the field teams. Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), he noted that drivers are central to the transport system, stating, “We look forward to the start of a new academic year and affirm our readiness to provide the highest level of service.”
The organization is maintaining close collaboration with key strategic partners to manage the logistics of the new year. This includes ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Education, various school administrations, the Integrated Transport Centre, and other relevant government entities. These partnerships are guided by the core principle that “Our students are a trust, and their safety is our priority.”
Looking ahead, Emirates Transport plans to maintain rigorous field monitoring to ensure full compliance with established safety procedures. These efforts will be bolstered by regular awareness visits, expanded cooperation with stakeholders, and intensified training programs for all staff members.
The company also intends to continuously refine its operational guidelines throughout the academic year by sharing lessons learned and implementing updates. These measures are designed to strengthen safety protocols and ensure that the transport network remains reliable and secure for all students as the school year progresses. The report also notes that it added that an initiative bringing drivers together as they returned from their summer holidays was successfully held on Monday at Zayed II School, Cycle 2, in Al Shawamekh, Abu Dhabi, as part of celebrations marking S.
