A passenger plane has crashed in Thailand shortly after take off with 9 people on board. The plane crashed shortly after take off from the country’s capital Bangkok airport. There were 9 passengers in this small plane. It is feared that they all died in the accident.
The plane crashed in a mangrove swamp in Chachoengsao province, 40 kilometers from the airport. Rescuers did not find anyone alive at the crash site. According to the local media of Khailand, there were seven passengers-crew and two pilots in the plane.
According to the provincial government spokesperson, rescuers found the aircraft in a fragile state in difficult and inaccessible swampland after an hour of searching.
The names of those on board were not immediately known, but the spokesman said five Chinese tourists from Hong Kong were on board. There were also two female Thai crew and a Thai pilot and co-pilot.
The cause of the plane crash is not yet known.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand said the turboprop Cessna Caravan C208B model aircraft was operated by Thai Flying Service Company. The plane took off from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 2:46 pm local time. After 11 minutes it lost radio and radar contact. At that time the plane was 35 km southeast of the airport.
The plane that crashed was on its way to the coastal province of Trat, 275 kilometers from the capital Bangkok.
A video showed parts of the plane lying in water and forest. The video also shows a rescuer crawling through the muddy water.
