Sharjah Police have confirmed the deaths of two sisters from Kazakhstan, aged 20 and 22, who were discovered in an apartment following a missing-person report. An official investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, with police stating that a formal report will be released once the inquiry concludes.
The sisters had relocated to the UAE in December 2025 to work at a beauty salon and resided in Sharjah. According to reports, they ceased all communication on August 17. Their family eventually contacted the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Dubai after failing to reach them, which led to the filing of a missing-person report and a subsequent search by local authorities.
Public concern regarding their whereabouts grew after a missing-person poster circulated on WhatsApp. The message alleged that the women had been in contact with a Russian-speaking Kazakh man who had provided them with accommodation. The alert further claimed that the sisters had deleted their social media profiles and were unreachable via phone or messaging platforms.
The Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the deaths, noting that the Consulate General in Dubai is providing the family with legal and consular support, including assistance with documentation and coordination with UAE officials. The state-run news agency Kazinform also acknowledged the ministry’s confirmation of the incident.
The sisters’ bodies were repatriated to Kazakhstan on August 28, a process facilitated by the cooperation between Sharjah Police and Kazakh authorities. Reports indicate that the women had been planning to return home to their families in early September prior to their deaths.
