Nine months after securing a Dhs100,000 prize in The UAE Lottery’s Lucky Day Draw, 55-year-old limousine chauffeur Abdul Salam Muhammad Ashraf is reflecting on the profound impact the windfall has had on his family. Originally from Sahiwal, Pakistan, Abdul Salam won the Lucky Chance prize during a November 2025 draw, using the funds to address critical personal and family milestones.
Reflecting on his priorities, Abdul Salam noted that the money allowed him to cover his son’s wedding celebrations and undergo a successful medical surgery. “I was able to complete the things that mattered most to me,” he stated. “My son’s wedding was a wonderful family occasion, my surgery was successful, and I was also able to support my loved ones. I’m grateful for that.”
Beyond these immediate needs, he extended his support to his daughter, assisting her with the purchase of a car in Pakistan, and made contributions to charity. Despite the significant sum, he chose not to spend any of the winnings on personal luxuries. “I didn’t buy anything for myself,” he explained. “I wanted to use the prize to support my family and help with things that were important to us. That made me very happy.”
Abdul Salam continues to work as a limousine driver and remains deeply appreciative of the stability the prize provided over the last nine months. This experience has reinforced his commitment to philanthropy, and he hopes to expand his charitable efforts in the future to assist families within his home community. “In the future, if I have the opportunity, I would like to do more charity work and support families in my community back home. Giving back has always been important to me,” he added.
He remains an active participant in The UAE Lottery’s Lucky Day Draw, which hosts draws every Wednesday and Saturday, offering a Dhs30 million Grand Prize and a Dhs5 million Second Prize. Whether selecting his own numbers or opting for the Easy Pick method, he continues to engage with the lottery that helped him secure his family’s well-being.
