Since the invasion and massacre of Palestinians in Gaza, Spain has taken a tough stance against the occupying Israel. Following this, Spain did not allow a ship carrying weapons to Israel to enter the port
Last Thursday (May 16), the country’s Minister of Communications Oscar Puente gave this information.
The country’s communications minister, Oscar Puente, told X News that weapons were being transported to Israel on a ship called the Marian Danica. The ship requested to enter the port of Cartagena on May 21.
According to local media reports, the Dutch-flagged vessel is on its way to Haifa port in Israel after collecting 27 tonnes of explosives from India.
Meanwhile, Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albarez said that ships carrying weapons for Israel were not allowed to anchor in their ports. He declined to comment on why this was done.
The company that owns the ship did not agree to comment on this.
On October 7, Israeli forces launched a brutal military operation in Gaza in retaliation for Hamas attacks. Spain immediately stopped selling arms to Israel.
