Russian President Vladimir Putin has condemned the twin explosions near the tomb of Qassem Soleimani in the southeastern Iranian city of Kerman.
The bombing was carried out on Wednesday (January 3) on people gathered to mark the fourth death anniversary of Qasem Soleimani, the former head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force. At least 103 people have died. More than two hundred people were injured.
Putin wrote to Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei condemning the bombing. In it, he wrote, killing peaceful people who go to the burial place is the worst cruelty.
Meanwhile, the European Union also demanded that the criminals involved in the explosion be brought to justice. The EU stands in solidarity with the people of Iran and calls for those involved to be brought to justice.
Besides, Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar also condemned the bombing. He wrote on the micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter) that he was deeply saddened by the numerous casualties in the terrorist attack in Kerman. Pakistan strongly condemns this heinous act and stands by Iran. Expressing our deepest condolences and condolences to the government and common people of Iran at such a difficult time.
Yemen’s Houthi rebels have condemned Iran’s attack. The armed group said in a statement, “This heinous incident proves that those who want to undermine the Islamic Republic, Iran’s work in countering global aggression, and its support for the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance forces have increased the scope of their crimes.”
Besides, the attack on the death anniversary of martyr Qassem Soleimani has been termed by the Houthis as a ‘terrorist bombing’.
