Desire of knowledge, the Dubai Consulate of Bangladesh is going to organize a Bangladesh Book Fair and Bengali-Culture Festival (Banga-Sanskriti Utsav) titled VIJAY UTSHAV-2023 at the Consulate General of Bangladesh office premises from 15th December Friday.
Consulate General of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Dubai, UAE has organized this festival highlighting Bengali language, literature, culture-tradition and expanding public diplomacy in the Middle East.
Emeritus professor and author will inaugurate this three-days book fair on Friday, December 15 at 5pm local time. Syed Manjurul Islam, Ambassador to the Emirates will be the chief guest. Emirati and Bangladeshi poets and writers will also be present. The book fair will open from 3pm-10pm on December 16 and 17.
During this festival, the Bangladesh Consulate organized a press conference in the Dubai Consulate hall room this Wednesday afternoon.
At this press conference Consul General BM Jamal Hossain presented a written statement highlighting the cultural programs being organized with performances of famous artists; participation of renowned poets & litterateurs form Bangladesh and also glorious presence of writers-litterateurs in this book fair from different countries.
The book fair will be organized daily with the participation of local and foreign famous artists as well as cultural events, new book unveiling, book discussions, literary seminars, discussion meetings and various creative, educational programs and competitions for children will be organized.

“Expatriates participated in the book fair last year and demanded that it be continued every year In view of the demands of expatriates and with the aim of spreading the life of Bengali literature among the expatriates, this book fair has been organized again.” said BM Jamal Hossain.
In this festival visitors can find lots of books from 30 reputed publishers of Bangladesh and locals will be available in the book fair, including various creative institutions and activist persons will participate too.
There will be a total of 70 stalls in this festive fair and the stall rent will be determined based on the cost of making the stalls, Consul General he declared.
He called upon the people of all ages, classes, professions specially the youth society with their families and friends.
The press conference was attended by consulate officials, media persons and community leaders.
