Eid al Adha 2024 is expected to officially fall mid-June – meaning the UAE’s next major public holiday is not far away.
So far this year, we’ve celebrated New Year’s Day on January 1, while Eid al Fitr offered a whole work week off which started on Monday April 8.
According to the Emirates Astronomy Society, the Day of Arafat will fall on Sunday June 16 and the following day will mark the start of a three-day public holiday in the UAE.
Arafat Day and Eid al Adha will be the third and fourth major public holidays of the year, after New Year’s Day and Eid al Fitr.
Like with Eid al Fitr, confirmed dates for Eid al Adha will only be announced in Dubai according to the relevant Moon sightings.
A total of 14 public holidays will have fallen in the UAE by the end of 2024. See below for a full list.
