Trump also announced that the United States will not allow the same mismanagement as in Europe to occur.
US President Donald Trump has issued a new executive order banning citizens of 12 countries. Citizens of these countries will not be able to travel to the country in any way.
In addition, a partial ban on additional travel has been imposed for citizens of seven countries.
The White House announced this information on Wednesday (June 5). It will take effect from next Monday. The countries under the full ban are –
Afghanistan
Myanmar
Chad
Republic of the Congo
Equatorial Guinea
Eritrea, Haiti
Iran, Libya
Somalia
Sudan
Yemen.
In addition, Trump has imposed a partial travel ban on seven more countries. The countries are Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela.
In the executive order, Trump said, “My responsibility is to protect the national security and interests of the United States. I have taken this order because the security of our country is now more threatened than ever before.”
In a video message released by the White House, Trump claimed that the recent attack on a pro-Israel rally in Boulder, Colorado, showed “how dangerous it can be for foreign nationals who are not properly vetted to enter.”
He added, “We have millions of illegal immigrants in our country who have no right to be here.” Trump also declared that the United States would not allow the same mismanagement as Europe.
In his words, “We cannot allow free travel from countries that cannot be vetted safely and reliably. It is a very simple decision.”
