Donald Trump, the presidential candidate of the Republican Party, is coming to the election rally under the open sky again after almost a month.
The rally will be held in North Carolina on Wednesday.
The rally will take place in the afternoon local time at an aviation museum in North Carolina. Security has been beefed up around the rally.
The podium where Trump will stand on this day is surrounded by bulletproof glass.
On July 13, Trump was shot from the roof of a nearby home while speaking at an open-air campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The bullet hits Trump’s ear. A Trump supporter who came to attend the rally was shot dead.
After the incident, the Secret Service advised Trump to stop holding campaign rallies outside for security reasons.
Trump has held about a dozen more campaign rallies since the shooting. But everything is closed. But Trump has repeatedly said publicly that he wants to hold rallies in open spaces.
At a rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on July 31, Trump said, “We have not yet given up hope of holding an election rally outside under the open sky.”
A few days ago, in a post on social media, Trump wrote that he will hold a rally in the open. “And the Secret Service is willing to strengthen their security arrangements,” he said. They are very capable of doing that.’
The Secret Service generally does not comment publicly on its security arrangements. They were asked by AFP about the installation of bulletproof glass around Trump’s podium and other measures being taken to beef up security, but did not receive a response.
The 78-year-old former US President Trump is now running for his second term.
