Lebanon’s powerful armed group Hezbollah fired 75 rockets at Israel. Israeli forces said dozens of rockets were intercepted using Iron Dome.
The occupying Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported this information on Friday (May 17).
It was one of the largest attacks by Hezbollah targeting northern Israel during the ongoing war.
The local ambulance agency said two people were slightly injured in the rocket attack in the Upper Galilee. They were taken to hospital for treatment. Both the injured are in their 60s.
Warning sirens sounded in the Golan Heights and several areas along the Lebanese border amid Hezbollah rocket attacks. Katzrin is 20 kilometers (12 mi) from the Lebanese border.
The war between the Palestinian armed group Hamas and Israel began on October 7 last year. The next day, from October 8, Lebanon’s Hezbollah joined the war. So far 300 Hezbollah fighters have lost their lives in Israeli attacks. On the other hand, it is not certain how many Israeli soldiers lost their lives in Hezbollah attacks. However, many innocent civilians were also killed in their clashes.
