Qatar has expressed concern that the consequences of an Israeli attack on Iran could be dire.
Amid the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari expressed this concern at a press conference in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
At the time, he strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. He also called for an immediate cessation of violence to restore regional peace.
At the press conference, the Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman described the Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities as a “reckless step.”
Majed Al-Ansari said that the timing of the attack is also significant. Because the attack was carried out at a time when Iran was moving forward with positive diplomatic talks with Washington. And many regional countries were directly involved in those talks.
He said Qatar is still actively mediating with the United States and Doha believes the United States is interested in a deal.
Ansari said, “We will continue to work for a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.”
