Israel has been engaged in four days of retaliatory attacks by Iran. The death toll in these attacks has been rising between the two countries. Israel’s national service reported that five people were killed in an Iranian missile attack on Monday. This brings the death toll in Israel from last Friday to Monday to 20.
On the other hand, Al Jazeera reports that the Iranian Health Ministry reported that the death toll in Israeli airstrikes in Iran has risen to 224 as of Sunday.
The BBC reported, citing Magen David Adom, head of Israel’s national emergency services, that four people were killed in the Iranian attacks across central Israel. Two of them were women.
Earlier, CNN reported that 15 Israelis were killed. Israel’s state broadcaster Kan reported that at least two people were injured in the port city of Haifa. In addition, three people are missing.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said on Sunday that a new missile attack has begun from Iran. Israel has detected several missiles. The IDF said that work is currently underway to prevent the attack.
According to a report, emergency warning signals (sirens) have started to sound in various cities in Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The IDF warned that its defense system is not completely impenetrable.
A CNN producer heard sirens and multiple explosions in Jerusalem. The video he took showed many missiles flying in the sky.
Israel’s emergency services agency, Magen David Adom, said that its teams had left for the affected areas.
The Israeli army has urged citizens across the country to enter shelters and stay there until further notice.
According to a BBC report, the Israeli army said in a post on X, the air force is currently working to repel the attack and launch a counterattack.
Israeli media outlet Ynet News reported that an Israeli missile directly hit a building in the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva. The attack caused a fire in the area. However, there were no immediate reports of casualties in the incident.
Meanwhile, Israel has carried out several airstrikes in central Iran. The country’s army reported this information. According to an Al Jazeera report, the army claims that these attacks were carried out targeting various missile installations.
An Israeli army statement said, “The Israeli air force has successfully hit several installations located in central Iran. Our intelligence indicates that missiles were being fired from these installations towards Israel.”
However, Iran has not yet made an official statement in response to the Israeli attack.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Health Ministry said the death toll from the Israeli airstrikes had risen to 224 as of Sunday.
According to a report by the Associated Press (AP), more than 90 percent of the dead were civilians. More than 1,270 people were injured in the attack.
The AP report also said that Israel launched airstrikes in Iran on June 13. The attack severely damaged Iran’s nuclear facilities in Natanz and Isfahan. Several high-ranking military officers and nuclear scientists were killed. Mosques and metro stations are currently being used as temporary shelters in Iran.
At least 15 people, including three Israeli children, were killed in the Iranian missile attack. The US media outlet CNN reported this information on Sunday, citing the Israeli government.
Israeli authorities said that at least 385 people were also injured in the Iranian attack, seven of whom are in critical condition.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reported, citing Israeli police, that six people were killed in the town of Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv, including two children. Seven others are still missing. Emergency services are carrying out rescue operations in the rubble.
