India’s Lok Sabha election results are out. Narendra Modi went to the BJP headquarters in New Delhi to celebrate the victory as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lost its majority but his alliance National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was ahead.
At this time, thousands of leaders and activists who were waiting for him congratulated him. Modi also shook his hand and expressed his gratitude to them.
Home Minister Amit Shah along with senior party leaders were present at the BJP headquarters. Narendra Modi gave a speech during the victory celebration. At that time, he said, this is the first time since 1962 that the BJP-led coalition NDA has come to power for the third time in a row. He thanked the people for that.
Modi started his speech by saying ‘Jai Jagannath’. He said in his speech, Congress has been caught in Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim. BJP won one seat in Kerala. Here our party leaders have sacrificed a lot.
Modi said, for the last 10 years, we have been trying to bring people out of poverty. This effort will continue.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India started counting the votes for the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday (June 04). In the result of this election, BJP did not get a single majority, but their led alliance NDA won in 294 seats. On the other hand, the Congress-led alliance India won 232 seats. Other parties won 17 seats.
The number of Lok Sabha seats in India is 543. A party needs to win 272 seats to get a single majority. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP alone won 303 seats and secured an absolute majority.
