A number of police officers who graduated from the first batch of the professional diploma of Policing Innovation and Leadership (PIL), which the General Department of Training organised in cooperation with Rochester Institute of Technology, stressed that the diploma program reflects the UAE’s keenness in general and Dubai in particular to adopt scientific programs that support professional, future-oriented police work that promotes quality of life.
The officers, who were among 45 officers from various police agencies from 30 countries, praised the high level of the diploma, which enhanced the exchange of knowledge and experiences through the valuable information provided by 30 elite experts from various international bodies over the four months.
Gaining Expertise and Networking
Major Ahmad Al Rawashdeh from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan confirmed that the PIL program has strengthened the expertise exchanged between all officers around the world and included many diverse topics related to the core of police security work and the importance of applying creativity and innovation to anticipate the future in police work and promote quality of life for communities. He explained that the participating officers would strive to use the valuable information they acquired in the diploma in their countries and police units.
A Unique Scientific Program
Officer Tediz Mubita from Zambia said that the PIL program is an essential scientific program that emphasises the need to strengthen innovation in police work and keep pace with modern police techniques worldwide to promote security and safety. He pointed out that the PIL program was very important and brought together officers from different world cultures in one place to stand on future challenges and learn how to deal with them. He further appreciated the role of Dubai Police in launching the diploma that reflects the UAE’s keenness in general and Dubai in particular to adopt scientific security programs that support professional, future-oriented police work and support quality of life.
Keeping Pace with the Latest
Major Ahmad Shahab from the Kingdom of Bahrain said: “The diploma program contained valuable information and brought together officers from 30 countries, which contributed to them sharing their diverse experiences and opened doors to the future for them to learn about the most critical developments in the field of smart cities, and enhanced awareness of the importance of innovation in police work to keep pace with all developments and challenges.”
Perfect Environment
First Lieutenant Bashar Joman from the Syrian Arab Republic praised the specialised diploma program, pointing out that it provided an ideal environment that helped officers from different countries around the world develop themselves on a personal, professional and academic level, praising the scientific material that enriched the officers’ knowledge over four months.
Staying Ahead of Change
Officer Ricardo, a fingerprint expert from Brazil, said that the PIL diploma was an excellent opportunity for officers to benefit from valuable information that enhances police work. He added: “This program will surely bring about societal changes in the future,”
Ricardo thanked Dubai Police for this unique program and expressed his admiration for the force for “doing a great job in technology, investing in innovation, and enhancing security and safety.”
Comprehensive Academic Program
Officer Brecia Hurdwar from Mauritius Police said: “It was an honour for me to participate in the PIL as it was a wonderful educational experience throughout.” Dubai Police designed the program correctly and comprehensively, and I gained a lot of experience with officers from different countries around the world that I will personally share with my colleagues at work.”
