At least 15 people have been killed and 44 injured after a fire broke out in a residential building in the Chinese city of Nanjing.
Local authorities said that the fire broke out on Friday night. Electric bicycles were kept on the ground floor of the building, from where the fire is believed to have started.
The fire was doused by 6 am, and the rescue operation ended around 2 pm. 25 units of fire service are working to extinguish the fire.
Several footages of the fire are available on Chinese social media. One can see flames spreading through several floors of the building. The fire service vehicles are not visible due to the smoke of the fire. In some other videos, smoke can be seen billowing out from various parts of the building.
44 people injured in the fire have been admitted to the hospital. Among them, one is in critical condition, another is seriously injured.
